Invigilo co-founder and CEO Vishnu Saran was invited to speak at Plenary 2 of the Singapore WSH Conference 2024, "AI - Friend or Foe? Navigating the Future Workplace", held at Sands Expo and Convention Centre on 11 September 2024. He is listed in the official speakers annex published by the WSH Council.
The Singapore WSH Conference is the country's flagship workplace safety and health event, organised by the WSH Council, and the 2024 edition brought together more than 1,600 delegates. Plenary 2 took on the live question of the year: whether AI in the workplace acts as a friend or a foe, and what that means for the people who manage safety.
Saran spoke from deployment experience rather than theory: what AI video analytics changes on a real worksite, where it fits alongside existing safety systems, and why the human safety team remains the decision maker.
What this means for customers
When the national safety conference puts AI on its main stage, practitioners want speakers who run the technology in production, not in demos. Invigilo's answer to the plenary's question is on record: a friend, when it is deployed to assist the safety team rather than to police workers.
